Episode quotes:

“A big theme in Adlerian psychology is that all of us have a sense of inferiority in some way, a sense of not feeling good enough, or feeling inadequate or feeling inferior. When our sense of belonging is weak and we don’t have that base of unconditional love and a sense of belonging, safety and security it can play out into our mental health. We can help people feel part of community and have a sense of belonging. We can introduce them to the unconditional love of God, the foundation for being able to feel that sense of being health and whole in who we are.”

“In our communities we often have people who are fixers, it’s really good that people care so much and want to help, but it can lead to a lot of burnout because we are pouring ourselves out into other people. There are little bits of belief that perhaps we are the ones who can save or can ‘fix’ others. We can learn to be faithful to what God has called us to and leave the rest up to God.
